Athletics Uniforms

Hey guys check out these websites and see if you can come up with a cool design for our uniform.
Remember we'll use this for Basketball and Soccer. I'll consider all your suggestions, and in the end I'll make a decision.

for this website chose the style you would like and then tell me the colors you would like. On this site you cannot change the colors, but they have many good options as far as styles.

on this site you also have a LOT of options to choose. And if you click here http://www.superbolla.com.br/loja/simulador/#
you can customize your shirt with many different colors and designs. Very cool.

check it out and let me know if you find something interesting.

Swim Event This Weekend in Brasilia! Join us!

Swim Competition

I wanted to make families aware of a community event that will take place in Brasilia this weekend.  A BIG swim team (including myself) is set to take place as part of the 25h Swim Relay this weekend in Brasilia. This is a really fun competition. The goal is to keep your team relay going for 25h straight! Our team (those that wish to join me) will be recognized as "Raia 10." This competition will take place at the Olympic size pool (50 meters) at Centro Olímpico da Universidade de Brasília (UnB). The minimum requirement is that you must be able to swim 100 meters (1 lap). You don't have to go fast but must be able to complete a lap. Once the lap is completed, the swimmer will take brief  rest and repeat the process.  Our team will do that all day and all night (if desirable)!

Remember: You don't have to stay for the whole 25h.  Therefore, when you sign up, the officials will ask you to choose a time of the day that you would like to swim. The event will begin at 10am on Saturday (23rd) and end at 11am on Sunday (24th).

I will be there from 9:30am to 11:45am on Saturday. We encourage everyone to come swim at that time and join me for the fun!  This is not a school sponsored event and everyone will need to provide transportation.  However, it will certainly prove to be a great time for those that wish to attend.  We apologize for the short notice but wanted to ensure everyone (if able) could attend the event.

You may sign up when you arrive at the pool at UnB. The cost is only R$10 per person.

Hope to see you in the water!

The big picture makes the difference.

You see it in the news: Baker kills his best friend.
  • You immediately think, crazy person or psycho! How can you kill your best friend?
  • But is it possible to be more to the story that you don't know?
    • What if it was an accident? He was trying to protect his friend, shot the bad guy but the bullet still hit his friend and he ended up dieing.
    • Or what if it was self-defense? (maybe something crazy happened and they got in a fight).
  • So now we have three possible scenarios. Which one is right?
    • Notice that if you don't think at all you would be stuck with the only view that the shooter was crazy.
    • Turns out that they went to a bar with a group of friends and the  "best friend" was messing around with the Baker's wife. After much talking the drunk "best friend" persisted until they got in a fight. The drunk friend tried to kill the Baker and his wife, and the Baker in self defense shot the drunk friend.
  • Now that we know these facts the story is completely different from the first impression we had.
  • It's crucial to see the bigger picture before getting bogged down in one scene or detail in the story that could lead us to the wrong conclusion.

Similarly is the Bible...
