Fwd: Calling all teachers: The Hour of Code is coming…

Every year in December, our friends at Code.org run Hour of Code - a worldwide effort to introduce millions of students to coding. We're excited to offer multiple ways that your students can participate here on Khan Academy, all for free!

Plan your students' Hour of Code

What is the Hour of Code?
The Hour of Code is an hour-long introduction to computer programming designed to show students that everyone can learn the basics. At Khan Academy, we offer several tutorials for your students (and you!) that require no prior experience.

Hour of Drawing with Code: Students will learn to program using JavaScript, one of the world's most popular programming languages via two great options:

  • Typing: keyboard-based coding (ages 10+).
  • Drag-and-drop: block-based coding for students with less typing experience and students on tablet devices (ages 8+).

Hour of Webpages: Students will learn to make their own webpages using the basics of HTML and CSS (ages 10+).

Hour of Databases: Students will learn the fundamentals of databases using SQL to create tables, insert data into them, and do basic querying (ages 12+).

Want your classroom to be eligible for great prizes? If you sign up as an event organizer with Code.org, you'll receive a gift card and be entered to win $10K technology for your school, a behind-the-scenes Star Wars effects tour for your classroom, or programmable robots for your students.

Let's encourage the next generation to become the creators of technology, not just the consumers of it. Plan your Hour of Code today!

 Hi JP.

How the heck are you doing?

I wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that I have a brand new Evernote webinar all set and ready to roll, and, of course, you are invited.

The webinar is Experience Evernote. It is (I think) the best introduction to Evernote yet conceived by mortal man.

I may be overstating it, but you will never know if you don't join me!

Evernote is one of the great digital tools we have access to, and I have built my whole productivity system around it.

The Experience Evernote webinar will be a great introduction to Evernote if you have not yet made it a part of your day.

Webinar Times

Nov 10, 1PM PST

Nov 10 4PM PST

Nov 11 10AM PST

Nov 12 1PM PST

Not only do I have a new webinar on Evernote but I have also redesigned Evernote Made Easy, my flagship course that has undergone an extensive overhaul!

All of our existing Evernote Made Easy students will be upgraded to the new course content as soon as it is released! (Nov 16 is the roll out date for the new content)

I hope to see you in the webinar!

I will keep each webinar to 1 hour!

If you can't make it live, there will be a replay link sent out after the webinar so go ahead and register!

Steve
